Custom Desks

Are custom built desks are made with you in mind, whether it’s for your home office, business, writing, or even a gaming desk. Each person will benefit from different amounts of drawers or added features to keep the desk top clutter free.

Unless requested otherwise majority of are desk are built out of high-quality Baltic Birch for the carcass with real wood veneer applied over. This is done same way cabinets are to avoid any warping that solid lumber can cause when glued into a side panel. It also keeps costs down for you, No MDF used.

The main features of your desk like the frame, top, and drawer fronts are all built out of solid wood, paying extra attention to the grain to make the piece pop when it needs to or stay straight and uniform for those more minimalist designs. We even do Live Edge slabs for the top.

Some Ideas to Think About for your Desk

  • When we design your desk, it will help to have a style in mind that suites the area around it. If you don’t have one however, we will create one around you and your likes as well as some of the existing pieces in the room. Some Ideas can be a large thick executive desk boasting dark oak missionary paneling, a light-colored modern design mixed with black stainless-steel accents and frameless drawers, a light maple chic design with beautiful curves to go with your antique chair and darker accents to keep it feeling cozy, or even a distinguished medium tone Mid Century Modern writing desk with very straight lines and unique legs. We can make it as wild as you can imagine or keep it straight and professional. Some desks are meant to be a statement piece while others just need to match in a room but regardless every design is truly unique to you.

  • When picking your wood, it’s important to understand the qualities of each. We will let you know as were designing it but some wood has a more muted reserved grain while some have more pronounced grains and knots that might not always fit the vision you had planned. Some wood we love for desks are

    • cherry - very beautiful red coloring with not too much of a grain. As it ages it turns into a very dark red/brown you see in many antiques.

    • Walnut - A beautiful dark brown wood with some lighter tans mixed in some boards, great for accents in the design or even the whole desk however can come with a hefty price compared to the other standard woods.

    • White Oak - very good, refined look usually in a lighter brown tone. The grain is typically found very straight in most boards but can be cut to have a very unique pattern. Great middle ground on cost.

    • Maple - A very light tan color with typically very faint grain, however there’s types of maple that can make the grain one of the most beautiful options out there.

  • Some people might need minimal storage space some may need lots. This is important when considering the design and how we can build it around those needs. If you have lots of wires you might even want to consider having wire boxes built in to hide all of them, tell they reach your built-in power supply. Maybe you have a cat that just loves to sit on your desk then maybe you’ll want to consider a built-in cat napping spot or are you into the cozy look and want somewhere to hang beautiful vines that come over the shelves along the wall Infront of the desk. If you're a tech you might want extra ports and special shelves to hold your tools.
