Desk update 2
Hello, we hope everyone’s having a great day. Its been perfect weather here in the shop.
We finished up the majority of the face frame for the desk still got a good chunk of sanding to do so bare with the rough look. We got the drawers made and the drawer faces gluing up. The grains going to be running up all cut from the same boards so the pattern will flow along all the drawers.
We got the top inlay cut and the client decided last minute that he wanted it epoxyed blue so we got that in and sanded flush. The blue unfortunately blends in with the black knot filled hole in the picture but will stand out with further sanding. On that topic we have begun the final sanding stretch for the top and should have it finished tommarow and can seal it with a beautiful layer of rubio monocoat pure.
Soon we will install the rest of the drawers and drawer faces, then we will notch out a spot for a stretcher to help support the top and keep it from shifting in undesirable ways. Then shelfs and more sanding.
We hope you enjoyed reading this update and if you’ve made it this far here’s a suprise picture of the majestic tundra bear
